Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how HaulTools handles information when you use haultools.com, sign in with Patreon, create or link a Driver Profile, activate HaulTools, publish profile content, or connect the in-game client to the verified delivery leaderboard. Patreon membership is used as an identity and entitlement source; HaulTools never receives your Patreon password.

2. Information you provide and Patreon sign-in

When you first sign in with Patreon, HaulTools creates or links a Driver Profile. We may store your Patreon identity identifier, Patreon display name, email address when Patreon supplies it, generated or existing username, display name, ATS profile name, CB callsign, Discord name, About Me text, profile visibility setting, profile picture, and up to four screenshots that you choose to upload. Patreon handles your Patreon credentials; HaulTools never receives your Patreon password. Historical legacy password hashes may remain in the account database for migration compatibility, but password sign-in is disabled.

If you choose Patreon sign-in, Patreon provides the minimum identity and membership information needed to identify your account and confirm HaulTools entitlement, such as a Patreon user identifier, display name, membership/tier status, and OAuth authorization tokens used by the licensing service. Patreon OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest in the licensing database and are not exposed through your public profile or administrator browser APIs.

3. Public profile information

If you keep your Driver Profile public, your username, display name, ATS profile name, CB callsign, Discord name, About Me, profile picture, screenshots, account role, membership date, and verified delivery statistics may be visible to anyone who visits the Driver Network or your public profile. Your email address and authentication data are not displayed publicly. You can make your Driver Profile private from the profile settings page.

4. Verified delivery leaderboard data

If you explicitly connect the HaulTools game client to your website profile, the client may submit completed-delivery records containing verified job distance, truck odometer start/end values, planned job distance, source and destination city, cargo name, delivery time, client version, ATS-profile link identifiers, and integrity information indicating distance excluded by freecam or implausible movement filters. The public leaderboard displays summarized statistics such as rank, verified miles, delivery count, and recent delivery date—not raw odometer records or installation identifiers.

5. How delivery mileage is filtered

The in-game client is designed to count truck-odometer movement only while ATS reports an active job. Mileage accumulated while developer/free camera is active is excluded, and large position jumps or implausible odometer changes are rejected before a delivery is submitted. These controls are intended to reduce accidental or ordinary mileage inflation; no client-side game modification can guarantee protection against a deliberately modified or falsified client.

6. Licensing, device security, and abuse-prevention data

To protect purchased HaulTools licenses from accidental duplication, unauthorized sharing, copied local activation data, and key-tampering attempts, the in-game client may submit a one-way SHA-256 device fingerprint, an installation identifier, HaulTools/ATS version information, activation and runtime-session identifiers, timestamps, and the result of license validation requests. The device fingerprint is derived locally; raw Windows MachineGuid, motherboard serial numbers, and other raw hardware identifiers are not transmitted to or stored by HaulTools.

The licensing service may record security events such as a license being seen on multiple device fingerprints, simultaneous use from different devices, an activation token presented from the wrong device, activation-limit attempts, use of a revoked license, or an invalid/modified-looking key submitted by a device that previously held a valid activation. For invalid keys, HaulTools stores a one-way hash and limited metadata such as the final four characters rather than the submitted plaintext key. These events are review signals and are not treated as automatic proof of wrongdoing; legitimate PC replacement, hardware changes, and reinstall scenarios can also change device identity.

7. Cookies, logs, and technical operation

The service uses secure session cookies to keep signed-in users authenticated. Invite-only beta and hidden owner-control access use separate short-lived access cookies. Server and infrastructure providers may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser or user-agent information, timestamps, request paths, and security/error logs as needed to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and deliver the service. HaulTools does not require your Patreon password, Cloudflare credentials, ATS save files through the website, or payment-card information.

8. How information is used

Information is used to authenticate accounts, verify Patreon entitlement, issue and protect HaulTools licenses, provide Driver Profiles and screenshot hosting, operate the Driver Network and verified delivery leaderboard, connect authorized game installations to website profiles, investigate license-security signals, prevent abuse, maintain service integrity, troubleshoot failures, and improve the HaulTools experience.

9. Service providers

HaulTools uses Cloudflare infrastructure, including Workers, static asset delivery, D1 database services, and protected Workers Static Assets for invite-only beta release packages, to host and operate haultools.com. Information processed through the website may therefore be handled by Cloudflare as an infrastructure provider under its own applicable terms and privacy practices. Links to Patreon, Discord, or other external services take you to services governed by their own privacy policies.

10. Retention

Driver Profile information, licensing records, device-fingerprint history, security events, and verified delivery records may be retained while your account or license remains active or as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain leaderboard and licensing integrity, investigate abuse, resolve disputes, and meet operational or legal requirements. Temporary OAuth, game-link, and runtime sessions expire or become inactive over time. Disconnecting the in-game leaderboard link does not automatically erase prior delivery history, and replacing a PC does not automatically erase earlier license-device history.

11. Your choices

You can edit your profile information, remove your profile picture or screenshots, switch your public profile to private, and disconnect active in-game leaderboard links from the profile page. If you need assistance with account or data requests that are not available through the website controls, contact HaulTools support through the official Discord or Patreon links shown on haultools.com.

12. Security

HaulTools uses HTTPS, secure and HttpOnly session cookies, Patreon OAuth for website authentication, server-side token hashing for in-game links, same-origin checks for account-changing browser requests, and restricted public API responses. No internet service can promise absolute security, so do not place passwords, financial information, or other highly sensitive personal data in public profile fields or screenshots.

13. Children

HaulTools Driver Profiles are intended for users who are able to use the service and provide information in accordance with applicable law and the rules of any connected platform or subscription service. Do not create a profile or submit personal information if you are not permitted to do so.

14. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when HaulTools features, data practices, infrastructure, or legal requirements change. The revision date at the top of this page identifies the current published version.
